Job summary

Qualifications

• Assist the press operator in daily production tasks.
• Insert packing sheets on plate cylinder to build up plate height.
• Fasten reinforcing bars to offset blankets.
• Install plates and blankets on press cylinders with hand tools.
• Adjust press components such as feeder, delivery, suction grippers, guides, feed wheels.
• Assist in removing and replacing worn rollers and adjusting pressure between rollers.
• Wash blankets and clean ink distribution systems using solvents.
• Help make color or register corrections before production to meet specs.

Responsibilities

• Assist the press operator during setup and operation.
• Place packing sheets on the plate cylinder to achieve correct printing height.
• Secure reinforcing bars to offset blankets for stable printing.
• Mount plates and blankets on press cylinders using hand tools.
• Fine-tune feeders, deliveries, grippers, guides and other press parts.
• Replace worn rollers and adjust roller pressure as needed.
• Clean blankets and ink rollers; remove ink with solvents.
• Make small color/register tweaks before runs to ensure quality.

Main Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

1. Assists Press Operator

4. Install plates and blankets on press cylinders, using hand tools to achieve pressure required for printing.
5. Adjust press machine parts, such as feeder and delivery mechanisms, suction grippers, guides, feed wheels, and jogging devices.
6. Assist in removing and replacing worn rollers and adjusting pressure between rollers of press, using hand tools.
7. Wash blankets and cleans ink and ink distributing rollers and ink fountains, using ink solvent and cleaning mechanism on press.
8. Assist Press Operator by making necessary color or register corrections and/or press adjustments prior to production run to meet and maintain the quality specifications of the job.
