Job summary

Valero in Corpus Christi, TX, is hiring a Mechanic 2nd Class - Pump to support refinery operations. The role installs, inspects, and maintains rotating equipment, inspects pumps, and ensures alignment and safety at the site.

You will work on-site at the Corpus Christi Refineries, using hand and power tools, reading craft math, and applying knowledge of bearings, seals, and drive systems. This hourly, nonexempt position offers overtime and a path for skilled career growth.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 2 years Rotating Equipment experience or degree in related field.
• On-site at Valero Corpus Christi Refineries is required.

Responsibilities

• Installs, inspects, and maintains rotating equipment.
• Inspects and maintains pumps.
• Adjusts and aligns machinery.
• Uses hand and power tools; sets up and inspects work site.
• Understands bearings, seals, pumps, and drive systems.
• Follows safety guidelines for rotating equipment.
• Overtime eligibility as hourly nonexempt.
