Job summary

Reynolds Lake Oconee in Greensboro, GA seeks a 2nd Assistant Superintendent for Creek Club Golf Course to assist the Superintendent in daily maintenance and irrigation operations on-site.

The role requires turfgrass education, calibration expertise, leadership to supervise staff, and adherence to OSHA/EPA safety standards while maintaining records and reporting.

Qualifications

• Minimum of Associate Degree in Turfgrass Science or related field from an accredited college or working towards a degree or certificate in Turfgrass.
• BS Degree in Turfgrass Science is preferred.
• Total familiarity with calibration procedures for turf equipment such as sprayers and spreaders.
• Ability to write reports, such as job performance reviews, and attend meetings when needed.
• Competent with turf equipment and able to train others in their proper use.
• Georgia Pesticide Applicators License in Category 24 or pursuing within 6 months.

Responsibilities

• Directs and oversees daily activities with the Superintendent and 1st Assistant Golf Course Superintendents.
• Manages staff in absence of Superintendent and 1st Assistant.
• Ensures work guidelines are followed and OSHA/EPA regulations enforced.
• Monitors staff performance and documents observations; assist in staff issue handling.
• Supervises morning course setup; monitor irrigation system and pump station.
• Scouts the course for insects, weeds and diseases; take corrective action after consulting with supervisors.
• Calibrates and manages irrigation for turf varieties; coordinates projects.
• Attends seminars for professional growth and development; maintains basic computer skills.
• Coordinates, schedules, and monitors special projects; communicates improvements.
• Maintains documentation of applications; performs other duties as assigned.
