Job summary

MAHLE in Dayton, Ohio, seeks an Electrical/Mechanical Technician to perform preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. You will document work in SAP CMMS and support equipment adjustments to meet specifications.

Qualifications include an associate degree or certificate in Electrical Maintenance or Industrial Automation, plus 2–3 years of hands-on experience with diagnostics, motors, and PLCs (Allen Bradley/Siemens).

Qualifications

• Associates degree, maintenance related certificate, or equivalent experience in Electrical Maintenance or Industrial Automation field.
• 3 years of prior experience as an Electrical Mechanical Technician or 2-year technical degree with 1 year experience.
• Must be able to work overtime and operate computer systems for recording information.

Responsibilities

• Perform electrical and mechanical system preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair in a team environment.
• Perform corrective, preventive maintenance and calibrations, following safety practices (LOTO, PPE).
• Utilize resources for troubleshooting and repair (operators, manuals, OEM resources).
• Document activities in SAP PM CMMS.
• Operate and identify parts required for repairs using BOMs and drawings.
• Support equipment adjustments to meet operating specs.

Your Contribution

• Perform electrical and mechanical system preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair in a team environment.
• Perform corrective, preventive maintenance & calibrations. Work safely following all required safe practices including LOTO, PPE, risk predictions, and work permits.
• Proactively utilize available resources for troubleshooting and repair (operators, maintenance team, electrical prints, manuals, OEM website resources).
• Properly and safely utilize tools and diagnostic equipment. Identify parts required for repairs utilizing available resources (bills of material, parts lists, manuals, mechanical assembly drawings, etc.).
• Perform machine adjustments as required to support operations.
• Examples of commonly encountered electrical devices and systems include switchgear, power distribution devices, MCC's, safety circuits, disconnects, fuses, PLC automation, motors, motor starters, relays, circuit breakers, VFD's, Cameras, photo eyes, prox switches, relays, motor starters, temperature probes, level sensors, flow meters, control valves and more.
• Participate in and support The Mahle Operational Excellence system.
• Utilize SAP Plant Maintenance CMMS system to document activities such as planned work, repair, and future work needed.
• Perform additional duties as required.
• Perform all work in a professional and workman like manner.

What We Are Looking For

• Associates degree, maintenance related certificate, or equivalent experience in Electrical Maintenance or Industrial Automation field.
• 3 years of prior experience as an Electrical Mechanical Technician -OR- 2-year technical degree in Electrical Maintenance or Industrial Automation AND 1 year of prior experience as Electrical Mechanical Technician.
• Prior work experience must include: diagnostic troubleshooting, repairing and replacing defective parts, adjusting machinery, and modifying units to meet proper operating specifications.
• Must be able to work overtime when required.
• Able to work with computers (navigating systems, recording information, locating information necessary to perform the job).
• Able to use basic mathematical skills in order to perform machine and mechanical systems maintenance, calibrations, and repairs.
• Working knowledge in the area of pipefitting and rigging.
• Working knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic principles.
• Advanced understanding of industrial electricity including motor basics and controls.
• Advanced knowledge of industrial automation and PLC based controls (Allen Bradley/Siemens).
• Familiar with LOTO / Arc Flash safety regulation.
• Communication skills.
• Proven problem-solving Critical thinking skills.
• Ability to meet the physical requirements of the job.
• Experience in a high-speed manufacturing environment.
