Dorn Color is seeking a Color Matcher for its Cleveland plant to support the color matching process across gloss, satin, flat, and other finishes. You will read tickets, follow specifications, and operate spectrophotometer and related equipment to match colors precisely.

The role involves color formulation, batching, and retouching, plus safe handling of chemicals, with a shift option on 2nd or 3rd shifts that include hourly differentials.

Responsabilités

• Learn to efficiently match all varieties of color submitted by our customers.
• Read each job ticket and follow the Department Manager’s instructions regarding specifications for Color Matching.
• Understand and use equipment and tools in the color matching process, including spectrophotometer, computer, color matching software, light booth, gloss meter, scales, mixers and dispenser.
• Perform color formulation, color batching, batch corrections and retouches.
• Provide the Coating Department with the correct batch size of lacquer for the required sheets.
• Assist in cost containment by selecting materials to minimize scrap.
• Store and handle all color matching equipment and materials safely.
• Keep the Color Manager informed of problems in the process.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area.
• Follow all work instructions and procedures for the Color Department.
• Handle hazardous materials/waste per EPA and OSHA standards.
