Temporary Faculty Pool – Lecturer in Speech‑Language Pathology

Position Summary: The department seeks qualified candidates to teach undergraduate courses in Speech‑Language Pathology or other courses identified as needed to fulfill the educational goals of current students.

Instructor Responsibilities
  • Adhere to and implement university and system‑wide policies as directed per Academic Policy Manual 306, paragraph 2.
  • Prepare, deliver, conduct, proctor, and grade lectures, office hours, homework assignments, quizzes, class projects, and midterm and final exams.
  • Ensure all classes are offered and meet as scheduled throughout the semester in the assigned mode (asynchronous, synchronous, in‑person, or hybrid).
Compensation

Salary ranges are established by the CSU Salary Schedule (Class Code 2358). Temporary Faculty with a Master’s degree earn $5,507–$6,677 per month when teaching full time (15 WTUs). Starting salaries are usually near the minimum of the range and are adjusted based on the number of WTUs assigned per term.

Term of Appointment

The temporary faculty pool is continuously open; positions are filled as needed based on student enrollment and funding. The pool offers part‑time lecturers to the department as required. Appointments are temporary and may begin shortly before the start of the academic term.

Semester periods:

  • Fall 2026: August 19 – December 22, 2026
  • Spring 2027: January 15 – May 26, 2027
Required Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders or closely related field.
  • Demonstrated commitment to working effectively with faculty, staff, and students from diverse ethnic, cultural, and socioeconomic backgrounds.
Preferred Qualifications
  • A commitment to teaching excellence at the undergraduate level, evidenced by prior teaching experience and evaluations.
  • Successful teaching experience at the undergraduate level.
  • A minimum of three years as a Speech‑Language Pathologist or Audiologist and ASHA CCC certification.
