Job summary

Belmont Charter Network is seeking a Teacher Assistant (TA) for Inquiry Charter School to support students' school success by collaborating with educators. • Ensure a safe, joyful, welcoming, and clean school environment
• Proactively communicate and collaborate with the lead classroom teacher on best instructional practices to maximize student progress

Position Summary

The Teacher Assistant (TA)at Inquiry Charter School is responsible for supporting students’ school success by working collaboratively with building educators. The ideal applicant is a highly motivated, energetic, and mission‑aligned individual who is interested in providing high‑quality and engaging care for students in a variety of settings, such as the classroom, the lunchroom, recess, and one‑on‑one support. This is a 10‑month position that is supervised by a member of the school leadership team in partnership with the lead teacher.

Core Responsibilities

• Execute small and whole group learning using the required curriculum
• Actively manage and engage students in a variety of settings, including recess, lunch, classroom, arrival, and dismissal.
• Proactively support students who are struggling behaviorally using trauma‑informed practices and Responsive Classroom (all staff members are given professional development around the above)
• Track student progress and maintain student data
• Ensure a safe, joyful, welcoming, and clean school environment
• Proactively communicate and collaborate with the lead classroom teacher on best instructional practices to maximize student progress

Additional Responsibilities

• Attend school‑based or network‑level professional development sessions as assigned by supervisor
• Attend school‑wide meetings
• Support OST programs as assigned by the supervisor
• Other duties as assigned by the supervisor

Qualifications

Education and Experience

• CDA, Associates, or B.A./B.S. degree from an accredited institution
• Experience working with children
• All employees must be able to provide a Pennsylvania State Police Criminal Background Check Clearance (Act 34), Pennsylvania Child Abuse History Clearance (Act 151), Federal Bureau of Investigation Record Check Clearance (Act 114), and a Sexual Misconduct/Abuse Disclosure Clearance (Act 168) before starting work on campus
