Job summary

Belmont Charter Network is seeking a part-time Custodian to maintain clean, safe, functional, and secure school facilities in line with district policies. This 12-month posting reports to the Custodial Manager and supports events, inventory, and a positive school image.

The role requires a High School Diploma or equivalent, preferred custodial experience, and PA clearances. Candidates must be able to stand, lift, and work in varied conditions to support Belmont’s educational mission.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• PA clearances required: Act 151, Act 114, Act 168.
• Custodial experience preferred.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift heavy weights.
• Ability to work in extreme temperatures.

Responsibilities

• Perform custodial cleaning duties in assigned areas as scheduled.
• Support the cleaning of all areas of buildings and grounds upon request.
• Provide services to support curricular and extracurricular events and activities.
• Maintain an inventory of custodial supplies/equipment and report usage data.
• Project a positive image for the school with the team at all times.
• On-call work for emergencies or special requests outside normal hours.
• Own the school campus by keeping all areas clean and organized.
• Accept other duties as assigned by Custodial Manager or Director of Centralized Operations.

Position Summary:

The PT Custodian is responsible for keeping assigned building(s) clean, safe, functional, and secure in accordance with established Belmont Charter Network policies and standards. A custodial worker must maintain all assigned building(s) in a state of operational excellence such that they present no interruptions, distractions, or obstacles to the education program. This is a 12-month position that is supervised by the Custodial Manager.

Core Responsibilities:

Perform custodial cleaning duties in assigned areas as scheduled

Support the cleaning of all areas of buildings and grounds upon request of the school leadership and the custodial manager

Provide services as necessary to support curricular and extracurricular events and activities.

Maintain an individual inventory of custodial supplies/equipment while providing the custodial manager with inventory usage data.

Project a positive image for the school with their team at all times

Additional responsibilities:

Work on call as needed for emergencies or special requests falling outside of normal working hours.

Show ownership of the school campus in its entirety by cleaning and organizing all areas, not necessarily by request or regularly scheduled assignments

Accept other duties as assigned by the Custodial Manager or Director of Centralized Operations.

Qualifications:

Education and Experience:

High School Diploma or equivalent

Experience in custodial services preferred

Hold all required clearances to work in PA schools (Pennsylvania Child Abuse History Clearance (Act 151), Federal Bureau of Investigation Record Check Clearance (Act 114), Sexual Misconduct/Abuse Disclosure Clearance (Act 168))

Skills and Abilities:

The ability to stand for extended periods of time, walk extensive distances, and manipulate (lift, carry, move) light to heavy weights regularly

The ability to push, pull, and guide materials of heavy weights; balance to work above ground

The ability to climb (e.g., ladders), stoop, kneel, crouch, and work in awkward positions

Sufficient hand-eye coordination, hand and finger dexterity, includingthe ability to grasp,

Visual acuity to operate specialized equipment and read technical (including blueprints) and safety information

Auditory ability to hear machinery sounds and alarms

The ability to work in extreme temperature conditions
