Appointment is contingent upon budget and enrollment considerations and is subject to the order of assignment provisions in the collective bargaining agreement between California State University and the California Faculty Association. Eligible applicants must be authorized to work in the United States; Fresno State does not sponsor temporary faculty positions.
Salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience and within the CSU salary range for Class Code 2358 (Academic Year Lecturers). For holders of a Master’s degree, the range is $5,507–$6,677 per month when teaching full time (15 WTUs). Starting salaries are typically near the minimum of the range and will be adjusted based on the number of WTUs assigned per academic term.
The temporary faculty pool is continuously open; positions are filled as needed based on enrollment and funding. Appointments are typically made just prior to the start of the academic term. Pool tenure is two academic terms; candidates wishing to remain beyond that must re‑apply.
Fall 2026: August 19 – December 22, 2026
Spring 2027: January 15 – May 26, 2027
