Work type: Instructional Faculty – Temporary/Lecturer
Location: Fresno
Categories: Unit 3 – CFA – California Faculty Association, Temporary, Part‑time
Temporary faculty members are responsible for adherence to and implementation of university and system‑wide policies as directed per Academic Policy Manual 306, paragraph 2. Instructors prepare, deliver, conduct, proctor, and grade lectures, office hours, homework assignments, quizzes, class projects, and midterm/final exams. All classes must be offered and meet as scheduled throughout the semester in the mode assigned (asynchronous, synchronous, in‑person, or hybrid).
Appointment contingent upon budget and enrollment considerations and subject to the order of assignment provisions in the collective bargaining agreement between California State University and California Faculty Association. The “Order of Work” prioritizes tenure‑track faculty before new lecturer appointees.
Applicants must demonstrate eligibility to work in the United States. California State University, Fresno does not sponsor temporary faculty for work visas.
Salary commensurate with qualifications and experience within the salary range placement. For a Master’s degree holder the monthly rate for full‑time teaching (15 WTUs) is $5,507–$6,677, typically near the minimum of the range. Actual salary is adjusted based on the number of WTUs assigned per term.
The temporary faculty pool is continuously open, with positions filled as needed based on enrollment and funding. The pool remains for two academic terms; applicants wishing to stay beyond that must reapply.
Applications reviewed on a rolling basis as teaching positions open. Review may begin early June 15 2026 for a Fall 2026 assignment.
