Job summary

Ceicmh in Lansing, MI is seeking a Security/Safety Attendant to maintain a safe, orderly atmosphere in the building under the supervision of the Safety and Security Coordinator. You will screen entrants, discourage violence, and monitor activities in accordance with CMHA-CEI policies.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, the ability to perform crisis intervention as needed, physical ability to lift at least 50 pounds, CPR/First Aid certification, and a valid Michigan driver's license

Qualifications

Responsibilities

Under the direct supervision of the Safety and Security Coordinator, is responsible for maintaining a safe and orderly atmosphere in the building, including screening individuals entering the building, discouraging physical violence of any kind and monitoring consumer and visitor activity. Responsible for carrying out all activities of the program/sub-unit in such a manner that fulfills CMHA-CEI’s mission, policies and procedures.

Requirements

Possession of a high school diploma or G.E.D. is required. Must be able to provide crisis intervention as needed (Therapeutic Options A & Therapeutic Options B on an Emergency basis) and must be physically able to do lifting and transferring of physically impaired consumers according to approved agency policies/procedures. Ability to lift, transport and/or physically manage consumers that vary in weight and size, minimally fifty (50) pounds. Must be able to stand and walk for long periods of time. Must be able to re-certify in CPR/First Aide each year following employment. Ability to communicate accurately and effectively both in writing and verbally is required. Possession of a valid Michigan Driver's License and access to reliable means of transportation for job related use is required. May be required to perform job functions at other CMHA-CEI work sites.

Conditional Employment Requirements

Employment offers for this position will be contingent upon the resultsof a background verification and credentialing procedure consisting of: Michigan State Police clearance check,verification of an acceptable driving record,educational background check, and verification of an acceptable work history. Must pass a pre-employment physical exam. Must pass a pre-employment 5-panel drug screen.

Salary

$19.85-$22.23 per hour.

Shift Incentive: + $1.25/hour for hours worked 5pm - 12am | + $2/hour for hours worked 12am - 8am | + $3/hour for weekends worked Friday 5pm - Monday 8am

Schedule

40 hours per week. Saturday/Sunday 11:00 p.m. - 11:00 a.m. and Wednesday/Thursday 12:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m.
