Job summary

Hilcorp seeks a Land Tech to assist in preparing oil & gas contracts, processing leases, and managing related correspondence to files, county clerks, land administration and partners in Anchorage, Alaska.

You will handle AFE processing, invoicing, and coordinating proposal elections, while maintaining records and supporting joint-venture billings. Strong Alaska experience and meticulous attention to detail are essential.

Qualifications

  • Five (5) years minimum experience as Land Tech or closely related with at least one (1) year in Alaska.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must be a self-starter, motivated, with good organizational & reasoning skills.
  • Must be able to work well in a team environment with the ability to prioritize workload.
  • Possess working knowledge of functions of Land Department.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word and Excel); SAP, Quorum, ArcGIS, and Power BI preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare correspondence and contracts.
  • Research leases, contracts and regulatory orders for proposals or specific information for Landmen.
  • Administer payment for new lease purchases and confirm documentation for accuracy.
  • Prepare form transmittals, check requests, oil and gas leases, assignments, right of ways and other contracts.
  • Copy and transmit leases, assignments, etc. to land administration group, and to partners.
  • Review invoices and code to appropriate AFE, circulate for approvals and payment.
  • Prepare and mail proposal letters to partners on well drilling, workovers, recompletions, lease acquisitions, etc.
  • Maintain spreadsheets to monitor proposal deadlines, AFE spending, leased acreage and related costs.

Job description

Assist Landmen in preparation of oil & gas contracts; processing of oil & gas leases and all related contracts and correspondence to files, county clerks, land administration and partners; processing of AFE’s and invoices; coordinating AFE proposal elections by partners and setting up Joint Interest Billings.

Essential Job Responsibilities
  • Prepare correspondence and contracts.
  • Research leases, contracts and regulatory orders for proposals or specific information for Landmen.
  • Administer payment for new lease purchases and confirm associated documentation for accuracy.
  • Prepare form transmittals, check requests, oil and gas leases, assignments, right of ways and other associated contracts.
  • Copy and transmit leases, assignments, etc. to land administration group, and to partners.
  • Review invoices and code to appropriate AFE, circulate for approvals and payment.
  • Prepare and mail proposal letters to partners on well drilling, workovers, recompletions, lease acquisitions, etc.

Qualifications

  • Proficiency in the use and application of the following software:
    • Required: Microsoft Office (Word and Excel)
    • Preferred: SAP, Quorum, ArcGIS, and Power BI.
Education Requirements
  • Required: Graduation from a high school or GED equivalent or any equivalent combination of education and experience demonstrating sufficient knowledge, ability and skill to handle the duties and responsibilities of the position.

Preferred: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with an emphasis in Energy Commerce.
