Job Overview:

Provide students with appropriate learning activities and experiences designed to fulfill their potential for intellectual, emotional, physical, and social growth. Enable students to develop competencies and skills to function successfully in society.

Job Functions:
  1. Plan and administer instructional programs and conduct classroom operations in compliance with directives from school administration, Board of Education policies, and legal regulations.
  2. Responsible for the overall instruction, operation, management, and supervision of the classroom.
  3. Demonstrate various methods to perform classroom and subject-specific assignments, providing effective programs tailored to individual student needs.
  4. Develop and administer assessments to evaluate student competency levels and create individual learning plans to enhance academic success.
  5. Assess student progress relative to learning targets and monitor students in various environments to ensure a safe, positive learning atmosphere.
  6. Instruct and counsel students to improve academic performance, behavior, problem-solving skills, health, and personal issues.
  7. Manage student behavior to maintain a safe and optimal learning environment.
  8. Collaborate with staff, parents, and community resources to support school improvement and enhance student outcomes.
  9. Assist other teachers with curriculum implementation and student plans.
  10. Supervise assistant teachers, student teachers, volunteers, and other staff to support classroom effectiveness.
  11. Communicate with parents/guardians about student progress and classroom goals.
  12. Respond to inquiries from various stakeholders to provide information, standards, and issue resolution.
  13. Prepare documentation such as grades, lesson plans, correspondence, assessments, and attendance records.
  14. Participate in meetings and professional development activities.
  15. Report incidents and respond to emergencies to ensure safety and compliance with laws and policies.
