Job Overview:

Provide students with appropriate learning activities and experiences designed to fulfill their potential for intellectual, emotional, physical, and social growth. Enable students to develop competencies and skills to function successfully in society.

Job Functions:

1. Plan and administer instructional programs and conduct classroom operations in compliance with directives from School Administration, Board of Education policy, and state and federal laws and regulations.
2. Be responsible for the overall instruction, operation, management, and supervision of the classroom.
3. Demonstrate a variety of methods required to perform classroom and/or subject-specific assignments, providing an effective program that addresses individual student requirements.
4. Administer and develop subject-specific assessments to evaluate student competency levels and/or develop individual learning plans to improve student success.
5. Assess student progress in relation to learning targets, objectives, and expectations; monitor students in various educational environments to ensure a safe and positive learning environment.
6. Instruct and counsel students to enhance academic performance, behavior, problem-solving skills, health, and personal issues.
7. Manage student behavior to provide a safe and optimal learning environment.
8. Collaborate with instructional staff, other school personnel, parents, and community resources to support school improvement and improve student outcomes.
9. Support and assist other teachers with curriculum implementation and student plans.
10. Direct assistant teachers, student teachers, instructional assistants, volunteers, and student workers to administer effective classroom programs and meet student needs.
11. Advise parents/guardians on student progress, expectations, achievements, and methods for improvement.
12. Respond to inquiries from teachers, parents, students, administrators, and staff to provide information and resolve issues.
13. Gather information and prepare written materials like grades, lesson plans, correspondence, assessments, attendance records, etc., to document progress and meet requirements.
14. Participate in meetings and professional development activities.
15. Address and report incidents such as fights, suspected abuse, or substance issues to maintain safety and adhere to laws and policies.
16. Respond to emergency situations to resolve safety concerns immediately.

Salary: $46,206 - $86,115 per year.
