Position Type:

Middle School Teaching/ Mathematics/Science

Responsibilities:

1. Develop and implement instructional programs tailored to student needs, including diagnosis, prescription, and evaluation.
2. Meet and instruct assigned classes at designated times and locations.
3. Create a conducive learning environment suited to students' maturity, interests, and abilities.
4. Prepare for classes and demonstrate evidence of preparation upon request.
5. Establish and enforce classroom behavior standards fairly and consistently.
6. Employ diverse instructional techniques and media appropriate to the physical setting and student needs.
7. Align instruction with district educational philosophy, goals, and objectives.
8. Ensure safety precautions are followed to protect students, equipment, and facilities.
9. Regularly assess student progress, provide reports, and communicate with parents as needed.
10. Maintain accurate records as required by law and district policies.
11. Uphold school rules, regulations, and policies.
12. Be available outside instructional hours for educational purposes as appropriate.
13. Participate in building and district meetings to facilitate effective communication.
14. Serve on curriculum and instructional committees; participation beyond school hours follows policy guidelines.
15. Attend school-sponsored activities and contribute to district decisions on budget, facilities, curriculum, and professional development.
16. Establish and maintain communication with students and parents regarding academic and behavioral progress.
17. Supervise and plan assignments for teacher aides, student teachers, and volunteers.
18. Foster cooperative relationships with colleagues and stakeholders.
19. Engage actively in the district-approved teacher evaluation process.
20. Pursue ongoing professional growth through reading, workshops, seminars, and coursework.
21. Perform additional duties as assigned, aligned with Core Expectations for Teachers.

Qualifications:

Valid Illinois teaching certificate endorsed for middle grades Math and Science.
