Kildeer Countryside CCSD 96Description:The classroom teacher's primary responsibility is to develop an instructional environment and use teaching strategies to achieve district goals for students' cognitive, affective, and psychomotor development.
Job Summary:1. Plan instruction tailored to individual students, incorporating diagnosis, prescription, and evaluation.
2. Meet and instruct assigned classes at designated locations and times.
3. Create a classroom environment conducive to learning, suitable for students' maturity, interests, and abilities.
4. Prepare for classes and provide evidence of preparation upon request.
5. Maintain appropriate classroom behavior standards, enforce rules fairly, and develop classroom rules.
6. Use diverse instructional techniques and media suited to the physical environment and student needs.
7. Implement the district's educational philosophy and instructional goals.
8. Take precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities.
9. Regularly assess student progress, report on achievements, and communicate with parents.
10. Keep accurate records as required by law and policy.
11. Uphold school rules, regulations, and policies.
12. Be available outside instructional hours for educational purposes as needed.
13. Participate in school and district meetings for effective communication.
14. Serve on curriculum and instructional committees.
15. Attend school-sponsored activities.
16. Contribute to district decisions on budget, facilities, curriculum, and professional development.
17. Maintain communication with students and parents regarding academic and behavioral progress.
18. Supervise assignments for aides, student teachers, and volunteers.
19. Foster cooperative relations with colleagues and the community.
20. Participate in teacher evaluation processes.
21. Pursue ongoing professional development through reading, workshops, and coursework.
22. Perform additional responsibilities as assigned, aligned with Core Expectations for Teachers.
Qualifications:Must hold a valid Illinois teaching license.
