Position Summary

Education for Change is looking for dynamic and visionary teachers who will engage students, families, and other members of our learning community to ensure high student achievement. The teacher provides instructional leadership to students and actively participates in and contributes to a collaborative, results-oriented professional learning community. S/he engages community partners and families in serving the whole child and ensuring ALL children achieve at high levels prepared to succeed in any setting. S/he will know how to successfully work in an urban elementary school with a high English Learner and low-income population.

Responsibilities

We are looking for teachers who are highly effective in the following areas:

  • Data Driven Planning & Assessment
  • Develop and implement effective instructional plans aligned with student needs and standards.
  • Assess students regularly and analyze results.
  • Use assessment results to differentiate instruction.
  • Classroom Learning Environment
  • Establish a culture of high expectations and a positive classroom climate.
  • Demonstrate respect for students and families from diverse backgrounds.
  • Instruction
  • Facilitate well-paced, scaffolded lessons with clear objectives.
  • Adjust instruction based on assessments.
  • Create multiple engagement opportunities for students.
  • Professional Responsibilities
  • Engage in reflective practice and collaborate with colleagues.
  • Address individual student needs and participate in professional development.
  • Maintain accurate student records and support the school's mission.
  • Partnerships, Family, and Community
  • Communicate regularly with families and involve them as partners.
  • Participate in student events.
  • Technology
  • Use digital tools to enhance learning and assessment.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree

  • Experience with Positive Behavior Interventions & Supports is a plus
