Job summary

The City of Rosemount Fire Department is hiring nine full-time firefighters. This position will transition to a 24-hour work schedule after an initial training period; the hiring rate is $88,905.44, with crew leaders potentially earning an additional 4.5%.

Applications will be accepted through November 8, 2026, with first round interviews planned for the week of November 16. Duties include fire suppression, EMS, public education, inspections, and equipment maintenance.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• High School diploma or GED or equivalent.
• Valid Driver’s License.
• 12 months’ Fire Department experience or equivalent.
• Nationally Registered EMT or enrolled and certified within 90 days of hire.
• IFSAC or Pro-Board Firefighter I and II certifications.
• IFSAC or Pro-Board Hazardous Materials Operations certification (470, 472 or 1072).
• Ability to obtain firefighter license in Minnesota at time of hire.
• NIMS 100, 200, 700.
• FAO certification or must obtain within 18 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Respond to a wide variety of incidents including fire suppression, rescues, and EMS.
• Administer fire protection through public education and inspections.
• Maintain and operate fire apparatus and protective equipment.
• Engage in fire prevention education and outreach.
• Participate in public safety presentations and training.
• Assist in developing emergency preparedness and response plans.
• Coordinate or supervise other firefighters when needed.
• Respond to emergency callbacks when off-duty.
• Perform light station maintenance and related duties.
