Job summary

University of Virginia's Facilities Management seeks a Systems Control Center (SCC) Operator to join a 24/7 operations team. The role monitors BAS, HVAC, and life-safety systems across campus facilities, ensuring safety and reliability.

The selected candidate will handle service requests, coordinate with responders, and work with a team including the Systems Control Manager. Shift work on rotating days, weekends, and holidays is required, with shift differential offered.

Qualifications

• 2 years of technical experience; customer-facing environment experience preferred.
• Ability to read system graphics and block diagrams is advantageous.
• Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills are essential.

Responsibilities

• Monitor Building Automation (BAS), fire and life safety, HVAC, energy management, and other critical systems.
• Notify and coordinate with internal and external responders via multiple channels.
• Apply sound judgment in routine and emergent situations.
• Receive, prioritize, and facilitate resolution of service requests from customers.
• Collaborate with peers, senior operators, supervisors, and the Systems Control Manager on complex issues.
