Qualifications

  • Knowledge of survivor-centered, trauma-informed, and advocacy-based interventions.
  • Ability to work with diverse populations nonjudgmentally with dignity and respect.
  • Excellent written, interpersonal, and oral communication skills.
  • Exhibits critical thinking, professional behavior, empathy, and boundaries.
  • Ability to work independently including overnight, weekends, and holidays.
  • Reliable transportation, auto insurance, MI driver’s license, good driving record; pass criminal background check.

Responsibilities

  • Provide 24/7 on-call support for survivors' immediate needs, safety planning, and referrals.
  • Advocate for survivors with systems including law enforcement, medical, social services, and legal.
  • Perform duties as a medical chaperone when needed.
  • Complete required on-call shifts and holiday coverage.
  • Document all advocacy services clearly on program forms.
  • Collaborate with forensic nursing staff to ensure survivor-centered services.
  • Participate in mandatory trainings and professional development.
  • Submit invoices monthly detailing on-call services and trainings.
