Job summary

Element Six in the United States is seeking a seasoned production leader to run a 24/7 manufacturing site with direct accountability for safety, health and delivery. You will translate demand into robust production plans, lead a ~40-person team, collaborate with Engineering & Maintenance, and drive cross-functional improvement to maximize availability, quality and cost effectiveness.

Qualifications

• Engineering degree or equivalent technical/operational discipline.
• 10+ years in operations/manufacturing leadership in a 24/7 environment.
• Proven track record across safety, quality, delivery, cost and continuous improvement.
• Ability to make clear decisions under pressure and lead through ambiguity and change.
• Strong production-planning, capacity-management and performance-management capability with good financial judgement.
• Strong technical aptitude and ability to work across production, maintenance, engineering, supply chain and quality functions.
• Excellent leadership, communication and stakeholder-management skills, with a collaborative style.
• Project-management capability; proficient in MS Office and manufacturing systems.
• Willingness to travel occasionally.

Responsibilities

• Lead a 24/7 production organisation with safety and health accountability.
• Act as second-in-command to the General Manager for operational matters.
• Own utilisation performance and improvement plans; ensure capacity is converted to compliant product.
• Translate demand and capacity into robust production plans and schedules.
• Lead a production team of ~40; set objectives and develop capability.
• Collaborate with Engineering & Maintenance and Process Engineering to improve OEE.
• Contribute to site leadership on HSE, strategy, investment, and capability development.
• Own production volumes, labour costs, planning adherence and KPI delivery.
• Establish performance-management routines and drive sustained improvement.
• Interface with Supply Chain, Maintenance, Quality, R&D and other sites to ensure in-spec material.
• Lead recruitment, succession planning, coaching and development.
