Job summary

Element Six, a global leader in synthetic diamond and tungsten carbide supermaterials and part of the De Beers Group, seeks an experienced Production Leader to oversee a 24/7 manufacturing operation in Portland.

You will lead a ~40-person production team, partner with Engineering, Maintenance and Quality, drive safety, delivery and continuous improvement, and report to the General Manager.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in ops/manufacturing leadership in a complex 24/7 environment.
• Engineering degree or equivalent technical background.
• Proven track record in safety, quality, delivery, cost and CI.
• Ability to make clear decisions under pressure and lead through change.
• Strong planning, capacity management and financial judgement.
• Excellent leadership and stakeholder management with a collaborative style.
• Willing to travel occasionally.

Responsibilities

• Lead production in a 24/7 environment with safety as a priority.
• Act as second-in-command to the General Manager for operations.
• Own utilization, capacity plans and improvement plans.
• Translate demand into robust production schedules.
• Lead a production team of ~40, including managers and leads.
• Collaborate with Engineering & Maintenance to improve OEE.
• Be a key member of site leadership shaping HSE, strategy and budgeting.
• Manage production volumes, costs, planning adherence, quality and delivery KPIs.
• Establish performance-management routines and drive continuous improvement.
• Interface with Supply Chain, Maintenance, Engineering, Quality and R&D.
• Lead recruitment and development across the operational team.
• Tackle complex issues balancing recovery with lasting improvements.
