Job summary

Core Scientific, Inc. is seeking a Security Operations Specialist to join our 24/7 Security Operations Command Center in Austin, TX. You will monitor facilities, manage access control, and coordinate incident response while maintaining documentation and system health across security platforms.

The role requires a rotating 12-hour Pitman schedule, with nights, weekends, and holidays. Candidates should have strong communication, problem-solving, and teamwork skills, plus familiarity with security

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot problems using a structured and logical approach.
• Strong attention to detail and documentation.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities during high-tempo operations.
• Ability to remain calm and professional during critical incidents.
• Demonstrated curiosity, initiative, teamwork, and willingness to continuously learn.
• Comfortable working with enterprise software, computers, technical systems, and web-based applications.
• Able to work 12-hour shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Maintain continuous situational awareness across facilities, personnel, and security systems.
• Monitor access control, video management, intrusion detection, alarms, and environmental sensors.
• Identify anomalous activity, security concerns, and operational risks.
• Serve as a first point of contact for security, safety, and incidents.
• Coordinate incident response and escalation with site personnel and leadership.
• Provide detailed shift turnover briefings for continuity between watches.
• Administer access control, video management, and credentialing applications.
• Process credential requests and access changes.
• Monitor system health and perform maintenance on security platforms.
• Support investigations with video review and data gathering.
• Prepare incident reports and logs for after-action reviews.
• Follow procedures, playbooks, and escalation processes.
