Job summary

Durham County Government in Durham, NC, is seeking a Security Operations Dispatcher to serve as the central coordination point for security events within the SOC. The role monitors CCTV, alarms, and access controls, responds in real time to incidents, and communicates with responders and stakeholders.

The SOC operates 24/7; you will work 8-hour shifts including evenings and weekends. A high school diploma or GED and 1–2 years in security operations are required, along with FEMA ISC courses

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 1–2 years in a call center, security operations, emergency dispatch, or related field.
• FEMA IS-100.C, IS-200.C, IS-241.C, IS-906 must be completed within two years of hire.

Responsibilities

• Monitor CCTV and access control systems for security events.
• Receive, prioritize, and respond to alarms, incidents, and calls.
• Dispatch officers and responders based on incident type and severity.
• Coordinate with law enforcement and emergency services during incidents.
• Document incidents accurately and maintain logs.
• Assist in de-escalation and ensure safety of employees and visitors.
