Job summary

Baltimore City Government is seeking a Public Safety Officer to enforce laws and maintain order at the Baltimore Convention Center and surrounding facilities. The role requires ability to work varied shifts, including nights and holidays, and to operate in indoor and outdoor settings.

Officers will monitor life safety systems, perform patrols, control access, and coordinate with emergency personnel as needed. The position emphasizes service, safety, and community impact.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required; commensurate experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
• Security Guard certification required.
• Ability to work 24/7 shifts, including nights and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Enforces rules and maintains order at city facilities and events.
• Greets and directs guests, staff, and attendees.
• Controls access to facilities and conducts patrols of buildings and grounds.
• Monitors traffic and coordinates with emergency responders as needed.
• Prepares daily logs and incident reports.
• Administers First Aid/CPR when required.
