Job summary

Westlake Chemical Corporation is seeking a Process Technician to safely operate reactors, storage tanks, boilers, oil heaters, and wastewater systems in a 24/7 facility. You will also run forklifts and yard tractors to move materials and support continuous production.

The role requires following EHS and quality procedures, logging process parameters in batch documentation, and collaborating with operators on shift to maintain inventory and equipment reliability.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Must be able to use a computer to send/read email, complete computer-based training, and operate the DCS.
• Must be able to speak, read, write, and comprehend the English language fluently.
• Must follow instructions and be self-motivated.
• Must be able to perform mathematical operations accurately.
• Must possess hand-eye motor coordination.
• Must be willing and able to work nights, weekends, and holidays as necessary.
• Must be willing and able to work overtime.
• Must work well with others and function well within a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Operate process equipment including reactors, tanks, oil heaters, boilers, etc. under direction of a plant operator.
• Operate forklifts and yard tractors to move materials within the plant.
• Document process parameters and monitor/log operating conditions.
• Create maintenance/equipment repair requests and troubleshoot basic operational problems.
• Ensure materials are tracked and logged in batch documentation to maintain inventory.
• Operate the Distributive Control System (DCS) for process control.
