Job summary

The Maintenance Mechanic at Tate & Lyle in San Diego is responsible for the troubleshooting and repair of mechanical equipment across the site to help keep production running smoothly. You will work 8- or 10-hour shifts, reporting to a Maintenance Supervisor, with overtime as needed in a fast-paced environment.

Applicants should have strong math and English skills, familiarity with SAP, drive systems, valves, pipe fitting and rigging, and basic machining.

Qualifications

• Requires basic mathematics and English language reading skills.
• Experience with drive systems, valves, pipe fitting and rigging is preferred.
• Basic computer skills including SAP and Microsoft Office are expected.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and repair mechanical equipment to minimize production disruption.
• Record time entries and repair activities in SAP; communicate with operators and supervisors.
• Operate forklifts, welding and other tools; follow cGMP and EH&S procedures.
• Perform basic machining and work across multiple plant areas as needed.
• Maintain safety, PPE usage, and teamwork to ensure efficient maintenance.
