Job summary

Tate & Lyle is seeking an E&I Maintenance Technician in San Diego to inspect and calibrate process instrumentation, troubleshoot electrical equipment, and support repairs and replacements. You will work under the E&I Lead and Maintenance Supervisor to minimize production downtime.

The role requires 7+ years in manufacturing/engineering, experience with PLCs and field instrumentation, plus strong knowledge of electrical standards and cGMP practices. Valid CA driver's license preferred.

Qualifications

• Experience troubleshooting PLCs, motor controls, field instrumentation, control loops, and transmitters.
• Working knowledge of regulatory and industry standards of electrical equipment.
• Ability to complete general maintenance work in the instrumentation, control, and electrical areas.
• Minimum 7 years prior employment experience in a manufacturing or engineering environment.
• Manufacturing and food industry experience.
• Ability to understand Input and Output addressing in Logic Controllers.

Responsibilities

• Carry out routine preventative maintenance calibrations and inspections to insure minimal disruption to the production process.
• Troubleshoot and repair mechanical and electrical equipment throughout the site.
• Sets up, replace, and install process instrumentation with minimal supervision.
• Provide insight and feedback from assigned work.
• Complete equipment history information files to document technical issues.
• Document mechanical or electrical problems that may disrupt the production process.
• Communicate with process operators and productions shift supervisors on equipment status.
• Utilize time to keep up routine cleaning of your work area consistent with the company’s cGMP Policy.
• Proper use of Mandatory Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) conforming to cGMP standards.
• Demonstrate effective teamwork behavior, promotion of process efficiency, and effectively communicate safety and procedural issues with coworkers and supervisor.
