Job summary

Appalachian Regional Healthcare (ARH) seeks a Patient Access Registrar to support inpatient and outpatient registrations, verify insurance, and collect accurate patient information. You will work in a fast-paced environment ensuring patient rights and financial responsibilities are clear.

Qualifications

• Minimum Education: High School diploma or equivalent required. Associate's degree preferred.
• Minimum Work Experience: Two years healthcare registration preferred; excellent verbal, presentation and written communication skills.
• Required to comply with OSHA regulations for N95 respirator training and fit testing.
• Required Skills, Knowledge, And Abilities: English communication, independent work, teamwork, and ability to stay focused under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Register inpatients and outpatients into the computer system.
• Verify pre-registration information and insurance details.
• Schedule admissions and communicate patient rights and financial responsibilities.
• Coordinate with ancillary departments and follow infection control guidelines.
