Job summary

Arizona Public Service Company is seeking a System Outage Communications Specialist to analyze and resolve outage inquiries and communicate reliable information during outages. You will provide outage details to APS management, Advocates Office, Media, Claims, and customers, and prepare reports for ACC.

The role requires 24/7 coverage in the Distribution Operations Center and on-call availability. Responsibilities include data analysis, communication with internal departments, and coordination

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent plus four years' relevant business experience.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Willingness to work shifts and be on-call, including extended hours.

Responsibilities

• Act as central point of contact for outage and emergency communications 24/7, coordinating with APS management and external customers.
• Compile outage data and prepare reports for ACC and APS management.
• Monitor outage data to support operations and communicate findings clearly to internal teams.
• Support ADMS and ARCOS systems to trigger field response and roster calls.
• Provide timely information about planned and unplanned outages and restoration steps to customers and departments.
• Analyze outage patterns and advise on corrective actions to improve reliability.
• Coordinate with Customer Experience Center, Construction/Maintenance, contractors and customers to reroute orders and resolve issues.
• Ensure consistent interpretation of outage policies and safety procedures across teams.
• Prepare daily outage duration reports for regulatory review and submission to ACC.
