Job summary

Puget Sound Veterinary Specialty & Emergency (PSVSE) is seeking an experienced Emergency Client Service Representative (CSR) to join our 24/7 emergency hospital. The CSR will manage incoming calls, coordinate patient check-ins, collect accurate histories, and support the medical team with clear, empathetic communication.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year of veterinary CSR or reception experience required.
• Emergency or specialty veterinary experience strongly preferred.
• Strong multitasking, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to remain calm, compassionate, and efficient in high-pressure situations.
• Confidence handling emotional or sensitive client interactions.
• Team-oriented mindset with a willingness to learn, grow, and support others.

Responsibilities

• Answer and manage incoming emergency calls with urgency, professionalism, and empathy
• Provide compassionate support to clients during stressful and emotional situations
• Obtain accurate patient histories and communicate effectively with the medical team
• Triage calls appropriately and prioritize incoming cases based on urgency
• Check in emergency patients efficiently while maintaining a positive client experience
• Support front desk workflow including documentation, payments, and medical record management
• Collaborate closely with doctors, technicians, assistants, and leadership to support patient care
• Maintain an organized, professional, and team-focused reception environment
