Job summary

Chippewa County Communication Center is seeking a Telecommunicator to assist the public in dispatching Police, Fire, or EMS and provide courteous, efficient service in the Emergency Communication Center.

The center operates 24/7 with 12-hour day or night shifts; open positions may be assigned via seniority. Candidates must be able to work days or nights, weekends, and holidays, with an application deadline of Wednesday, October 14th, 2026 at 4:30 PM.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Previous emergency services dispatch experience preferred.
• 911 training preferred.
• CPR Certification preferred.
• Emergency Medical Dispatch Certification preferred.
• Time System Certification required within one year of hire.

Responsibilities

• Operate a countywide communication system with multiple radio channels and phone lines.
• Dispatch personnel and apparatus for police, fire, EMS agencies.
• Receive emergency and non-emergency calls; assess urgency and needs.
• Maintain contact with units on duty; track status and location.
• Provide court testimony as required.
