Job summary

Calumet County, Wisconsin, is seeking an on-call Emergency Communications Dispatcher to respond to public safety requests, dispatch police, fire and EMS units, and coordinate response under supervision.

You will operate the TIME System and various emergency warning equipment, maintain accurate logs, and communicate clearly with responders and the public.

Strong reading, writing, and data-entry skills, high school diploma with related coursework, and some law enforcement experience preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma with related coursework; additional coursework preferred.
• 2–3 years civil or military law enforcement experience preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules and manuals.
• Strong written and verbal communication and information retention.
• Knowledge of police, fire and EMS dispatch procedures.

Responsibilities

• Answer emergency and non-emergency calls using E-911 equipment.
• Dispatch and coordinate units based on incident requirements.
• Operates TIME System and emergency warning equipment.
• Maintain records and logs in compliance with policy.
• Maintain confidentiality of information.
