Job summary

General Dynamics Information Technology, Inc. seeks a seasoned Network Administrator to provide around-the-clock incident response and ensure the stability of in-house systems supporting the USBICES-X program.

You will monitor, maintain, and optimize networked software across operating environments while collaborating with cross-functional teams to resolve issues promptly. Qualified candidates bring 10+ years of experience, a Secret clearance, a BA/BS, CCNA, and DoD 8570/IAT II readiness.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of related experience.
• Must possess and maintain a Secret Security Clearance.
• BA/BS degree – may substitute additional years of experience.
• Must possess a completed CCNA certification.
• Must meet DoW 8570 requirements and be eligible for IAT II access with Security+ CE.
• Knowledge of routing and switching protocols (e.g. OSPF, EIGRP, BGP, STP, ISAKMP, ESP, SIP, SCCP).
• Knowledge and experience with current Cisco IOS software and hardware features.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and multi-task while maintaining quality.
• Experience working with hardware vendors in incident resolution.
• Experience with ITSM processes and security compliance.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Willingness to work shift work including holidays and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Identifies, analyzes, and resolves network incidents and problems.
• Provides network/equipment/specialized training and technical guidance.
• Determines network specifications, input/output processes, and working parameters for hardware/software compatibility.
• Knowledge of the associated hardware, software, and equipment associated with US BICES.
• Participates in special projects as assigned.
• Analyzes, administers and maintains voice, video, and/or data communications networks.
• Manages the usage and performance of voice, video and/or data communications networks
• Maintains network to meet Enterprise Service Availability and Service Level Agreement requirements.
• Utilizes IT Service Management (ITSM) Principles to identify, categorize, prioritize, elevate, troubleshoot, and resolve incidents.
• Maintains network security and ensures compliance with security policies and procedures.
• Participates in the development and implementation of network-related procedures and standards.
• Interfaces with vendors to ensure appropriate resolution during network outages or periods of reduced performance.
• Assists with development of third-party monitoring actions and procedures for network infrastructure.
• Develops and implements testing strategies and document results.
• 24/7 Position. Shift work is required.
