Job summary

University of North Dakota’s 24/7 Operations Center in Grand Forks operates on-site to receive, coordinate, and dispatch calls for campus operations. The role requires readiness for every other weekend shifts, plus day/evening/overnight/holiday rotations and quick coordination with first responders.

The dispatcher handles alarms, security events, and critical system monitoring, records actions, and ensures proper access control.

Qualifications

• Associates degree or equivalent related experience.
• Experience in emergency dispatch, operations center, or call center recommended.
• Proficient with standard computer software and documentation.

Responsibilities

• Answer calls for service and dispatch appropriate personnel; provide customer-focused service.
• Receive and prioritize alarms, emergencies, and security incidents; coordinate with 911 center as needed.
• Document actions in logs and systems; maintain records for events and responses.
• Coordinate emergency responses including medical, fire, weather, and security events.
• Operate security and building automation systems and update records.
• Manage keys and door access; schedule lock/unlock for events and ensure access control.
• Provide backup for Operations Center Manager during emergencies.
• Perform other emergency management duties as assigned.
