Job summary
Grainger is seeking a Maintenance Technician for our Distribution Center to own the automated material handling systems, troubleshoot complex controls, and support building systems. You will resolve mechanical, electrical, and software issues, provide 24x7 on-call coverage, and work with cross-functional teams to keep operations running smoothly.
Ideal candidates have a technical degree, 5+ years in maintenance of MHE, knowledge of PLCs, and strong electrical/test instrumentation skills.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent technical training.
- Minimum 5 years of building and equipment maintenance experience with automated material handling systems.
- Experience with PLC troubleshooting and electrical controls.
- Strong reading of MEP drawings and schematics.
Responsibilities
- Serve as 24x7 primary responder for automated material handling system issues.
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic components.
- Diagnose and optimize building equipment and MHE performance through data.
- Collaborate with internal/external teams to resolve DC issues.
- Support audits and quality checks of equipment and systems.
