Job summary

Grainger is hiring a Maintenance Technician for our distribution center on site. You will perform preventive maintenance and repairs on automated material handling systems, report to a Facilities Supervisor, and support uptime and safety.

The role requires 5+ years in building and equipment maintenance, 2+ years with Dematic or similar conveyors, and experience with AC drives. Proficiency with CMMS, reading MEP drawings, and PLC changes (Siemens, Allen-Bradley) is preferred.

Qualifications

• This role requires a high school diploma or equivalent.
• 5+ years of building and equipment maintenance, including Dematic or similar conveyors.
• 2+ years of experience with AC drives (setup, programming, faults).
• Experience reading mechanical/electrical/plumbing drawings and schematics.
• Familiarity with CMMS software.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on automated material handling systems.
• Respond to system issues involving conveyors, controls, and software.
• Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic components.
• Design, implement, and document PLC changes (Siemens, Allen-Bradley) when authorized.
• Operate all material handling and mobile equipment in the distribution center.
• Work at heights and be available for 24-hour on-call rotation.
• Follow safety codes and lockout/tagout standards.
