Job summary

The YMCA of Metro Atlanta is seeking a 21st Century Site Coordinator for the Cowart Family Ashford Dunwoody YMCA in Brookhaven, GA. Under the After School Director, you will oversee the 21st CCLC site, supervise staff, ensure Bright From The Start compliance, and deliver academic and enrichment activities for students in a 20-hour program.

You will develop age-appropriate lessons, provide tutoring and homework help, collaborate with teachers and parents, and lead the academic sessions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree & Georgia Teaching Certificate required.
• Minimum 21 years of age and eligible to work in the US.
• At least 2 years of experience in Title I schools preferred.
• At least 2 years in extended day programming.

Responsibilities

• Carry out daily program tasks related to the 21st CCLC scope.
• Monitor and ensure smooth site operations and high service levels.
• Collect and submit data/reports for 21st CCLC and related programs.
• Maintain certifications and training as required by the YMCA and program policies.

NATURE AND SCOPE

Under the direction of the After School Director, 21st Century Site Coordinator will be primarily responsible for oversight of 21st CCL site. This includes supervising staff, compliance on Bright From The Start requirements and supporting the 21st CCLC team with eLearning opportunities with the delivery of the Academic and enrichment component of the specified school site. The 20‑hour program will include the Academic instruction, tutoring, homework assistance and STEAM project base learning opportunities for the students. This position will play a key role in the 21st CCLC Team in delivering academic instruction to the students.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Carry out daily program tasks related directly to the position's scope and responsibility.
• Stay updated on current issues regarding 21st CCLC programming.
• Promote, monitor, evaluate and ensure that 21st CCLC site run smoothly with a high level of service to participants.
• Timely collection and submittal of data/reports as required by 21st CCLC, Bright From The Start and CACFP.
• Maintain YMCA branch and YMCA association certifications in CPR, Multi-Media First Aid, Bloodborne Pathogens, Metro Atlanta YMCA New Staff Orientation and Branch and off‑site Emergency procedures and any other required certifications and/or training required by the Metro Atlanta YMCA.
• Assist as needed in all aspects of the YMCA and school community.
• Participation in and partner with After School cabinet activities as needed.
• Responsible for maintaining and reporting incident/accident paperwork in a timely fashion.
• Implement wellness checks and provide a leadership role in ensuring member/staff adherence to the safety protocols, with a commitment to positive member and staff safety.
• Develop age and/or grade level appropriate lessons.
• Provide homework and class work instruction and tutorials.
• Collaborates with youth, parents, school day teachers to ensure that youth receive effective academic sessions.
• Facilitates all academic sessions and serves as the lead academic instructor.
• Develop assessment tools to document academic progress.

REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor’s degree and Georgia Teaching Certificate
• Must be at least 21 years of age
• A minimum of 2 years’ experience in working with in Title1 schools preferred
• A minimum of 2 years’ experience in working in extended day programming
• Required certifications, Teaching Certificate; must obtain any other certifications required for the position
• Ability to obtain working knowledge of 21st CCLC requirements
• A working knowledge of computers: MS Word, MS Excel, data base management
• Attend required professional development activities

• Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to handle multiple tasks, work independently, problem solve and possess effective time management skills
• Strong customer service skills and personal commitment to service and hospitality
• Pass a criminal background and drug screening check
• Pass a Motor Vehicles Record and have own transportation
• CPR within 30 days of employment and maintain throughout employment
• Ergonomic Requirements: Sitting, bending, stooping, standing, 15% repetitive keyboard work, seeing, verbal communications, lift up to 25 pounds.
