Job summary

Somerton School District invites applications for a grant-funded Classified position in the District Office. 261 workdays per year, 8 hours daily, 12-month schedule, with full benefit package. Reports to the Superintendent/Director of Federal Programs and starts in September 2026.

This role focuses on coordinating 21st CCLC after-school and summer programs, ensuring compliance with district, state and grant policies, and monitoring staff performance and reporting requirements.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree preferred or an equivalent combination of education, training, and related experience.
  • Over three years of office or clerical experience including spreadsheets.
  • Experience working with student records or technical reports.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate, develop, implement, monitor and revise 21st CCLC after-school and summer programs.
  • Monitor staff and complete paperwork required by state and federal laws.
  • Train staff on grant compliance requirements and monitoring procedures.
  • Assist principals with site program implementation and procedures.
  • Submit required 21st CCLC reports to ADE, admins, and Governing Board.
  • Oversee grant budget and revisions in GME.
  • Monitor academic progress of all sessions as required by ADE.
  • Maintain accurate attendance and student information records.

Education

TYPE: Classified STATUS: Non-Exempt SALARY: ($20.28 per hour, 12-month position, Full Benefit Package)

WORK CALENDAR: 261 Days 8 Hours Per Day START DATE: September 2026

NOTE: This is a grant funded position.

REPORTS TO: Superintendent/Director of Federal Programs

DEFINITION: Under general supervision to provide high-quality educational programs, with a focus on the English language. The Specialist must establish priorities that address the needs of students, staff members, and the community. Demonstrate sincere concern and dedication to establishing and maintaining cooperative, positive daily interactions with all staff, students, parents, and vendors. Always foster a team environment to accomplish established goals and objectives for the 21st Century program for Somerton School District No. 11.

Essential Functions

Specific Duties/Tasks Include
  • Assists with the coordination, development, implementation, monitoring and revision of 21st CCLC after-school and summer school programs.
  • Implement applicable district, agency and grant policies, procedures and regulations applicable to the program.
  • Monitor staff to support the program and complete all necessary paperwork as required by state and federal laws.
  • Train staff on grant compliance requirements, administration and monitoring procedures
  • Assists principals with site program implementation, processes and procedures
  • Submit required 21st CCLC reports to ADE, administrators, and the Governing Board
  • Oversees the grant budget and revisions in GME
  • Monitors academic progress of all sessions as required by ADE
  • Verifies accuracy of student information and attendance reporting through district’s student information system
  • May need to meet with parent/guardian to address student concerns
  • Establish and maintain communication with staff as related to student needs and all aspects of the program.
  • Accurately maintain records required by state department and meet reporting deadlines
  • Make certain all employees sign in and out on time sheets and forward accurate records to payroll in a timely manner along with activity related budgeting forms
  • On a regular basis, meet with supervisor and grants administrator to ensure grant funds and expenditures remain within grant guidelines and the budget, maintain records of Purchase Orders and all grant related expenses
  • Perform periodic program evaluations, analyze and interpret data with site coordinator
  • Collaborate with other grant recipients and community resources to provide value added instruction.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND OTHER CHARACTERISTICS
  • Knowledge of district policies and procedures.
  • Knowledge of Arizona Academic Standards and SEI Models.
  • Knowledge of Federal and State guidelines, laws and regulations governing ELD education.
  • Knowledge of classroom teaching methods and techniques.
  • Read a variety of manuals, write documents following prescribed formats, and/or present information to others
  • Knowledge of specialized office functions for assigned areas.
  • Knowledge of basic math, including calculations using fractions, percentages, and/or ratios
  • Knowledge of administrative support and record-keeping techniques.
  • Knowledge of modern office practices, principles and methods.
  • Skill in maintaining confidential files and information.
  • Skill in the use of a personal computer and related software.
  • Skill in verbal and written communication.
  • Skill in following oral and written instructions.
  • Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships.
  • Skill in gathering statistical data and developing reports.
Physical Requirements

Work is performed in an indoor environment. Work requires frequent standing, walking, and sitting. Some positions may require bending and lifting up to 25 pounds.

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree preferred or an equivalent combination of education, training, and related experience with 21st CCLC grant policies and requirements. Over three (3) years of office or clerical experience which includes the use of spreadsheet software, experience working with student records or technical reports. Experience working with Microsoft Office products. Strong interpersonal (verbal/written, and presentation skills), organizational, with the ability to work and build rapport with all levels are necessary to perform the job at the expected level.
