Job summary

Freehold Borough School District is seeking a Project Director for the 21st Century Community Learning Center. This grant-funded role leads program operations, staff recruitment, and coordination with district administration to deliver high-quality after-school programming.

The successful candidate will oversee budgeting, reporting, and family/community engagement, ensuring compliance with grant guidelines and NJDOE requirements. This is a full-time, 12-month position with comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred; equivalent education/experience may be substituted.
• Experience with grant-funded programs, preferably 21st CCLC.
• Experience in budget preparation and purchasing of supplies/materials.
• Background check and U.S. citizenship proof required.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to 21st CCLC grant guidelines and liaison with grant evaluator.
• Provide services to families and community members, including workshops and referrals.
• Develop and manage annual budgets, monitor expenditures, and ensure compliance with grant guidelines.
• Conduct regular staff meetings to ensure quality service delivery.
• Collaborate with district/school administration on student matters and scheduling.
• Prepare and submit required reports per 21st CCLC guidelines and NJDOE.
• Execute all additional duties per BOE-approved job description.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university preferred. An equivalent

combination of education, training, and demonstrated experience in 21st CCLC or other grant funded after-school programming may be substituted.

Experience with grant writing and grant-funded programs with a preference for 21st CCLC

Experience in budget preparation and purchasing of supplies and materials

Required criminal history background check and proof of U.S. citizenship

Demonstrated ability in supervision, staff/student recruitment and retention, and scheduling

Performance Responsibilities:

• Adhere to all compliance requirements, protocols, and procedures as outlined in the 21st CCLC grant guidelines, including being a liaison to the grant evaluator
• Provide services to parents/guardians/caregivers, families, and other community members, including but not limited to workshops, family nights, resources, and referrals
• Develop and manage annual budgets, monitor, and control expenditures and comply with funding sources and grant guidelines
• Conduct ongoing staff meetings to ensure the delivery of an optimum level of service
• Collaborate with district/school administration and staff on student matters, scheduling, and programming
• Prepare and submit reports in a timely manner, as required by the 21st CCLC guidelines and NJDOE
• All other performance responsibilities outlined on BOE-approved job description

Salary:

$55,000 to $65,000 annually, commensurate with experience and education.

The Freehold Borough Public Schools is a Preschool – 8 District in Monmouth County, NJ with a diverse student population of approximately 1,500 students. The district is comprised of two elementary schools and one middle school. High school students attend the Freehold Regional High School District.
