Job summary

NWU is seeking a technically curious student or recent graduate to join our IT automation effort. You will identify manual IT processes suitable for automation and design solutions using Terraform, scripting, APIs, and other technologies.

Emphasis on IaC, reliable repeatable processes, and collaboration with the IT team. You will gain hands-on experience with Terraform, cloud platforms like Azure, and API-driven IT operations while contributing to service desk automation and infrastructure

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree, certification, or equivalent coursework in Computer Science, IT, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field.
• Foundational experience with IT systems, cloud platforms, systems administration, networking, or related technologies through coursework, internships, employment, labs, or personal projects.
• Hands-on experience with Terraform through coursework, personal projects, labs, internships, or professional experience.
• Understanding of Infrastructure as Code and basic software development concepts.
• Familiarity with scripting or programming languages such as PowerShell, Python, or similar.
• Familiarity with Git or another version control system.
• Experience working with structured data such as JSON or YAML is preferred.
• Familiarity with APIs and cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure is a plus.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Ability to recognize opportunities to eliminate manual work through automation.
• Ability to break complex problems into smaller, manageable components.
• Strong attention to detail and understanding of the importance of reliable, repeatable processes.
• Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly.
• Eagerness to learn and take ownership of technical challenges.

Responsibilities

Compensation & Benefits

• Base compensation of $30.00 per hour, determined by education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities
