Job summary

Waymo LLC in Mountain View, CA is offering a hybrid onsite internship in software engineering focused on reinforcement learning and model training for the Waymo Driver project.

You'll extend RL infrastructure, run experiments, tune parameters, and explore new techniques while collaborating with the Onboard developer platform team.

Applicants are pursuing a Master's or PhD in software engineering, ML, or related fields with 2+ years coding experience and interest in autonomous driving.

The subteam for this role will be:

The Onboard developer platform team builds tools/solutions that enable faster model training, quality evaluation, simulation so that Waymo engineers can develop better autonomous driving models and systems.

You will:

You have:

We prefer:

• 3+ years of experience on ML or RL with hands-on projects
• 2+ years of experience on optimizing system infrastructure ( simulation, ML/RL, or other backend systems)
• Experience in working with autonomous driving or relevant technologies

The expected hourly rate for this full-time position is listed below. Interns are also eligible to participate in the Company’s generous benefits programs, subject to eligibility requirements.

Hourly Masters Pay

$70—$70 USD
