Job summary

Ursa Major is seeking a Business Process & ERP Documentation Intern to support the IBP team by capturing and standardizing end-to-end planning and order management processes. You will help identify automation opportunities within our ERP, gaining exposure to how operations, planning, and technology intersect in a growing defense-focused company.

• Collaborate with IBP and ERP/IT to translate requirements into configurations or simple automations.
• Assist in testing ERP process changes to ensure user-friendliness and accuracy.
• Contribute to training materials to enable adoption of improved processes.

Role Summary

The Business Process & ERP Documentation Intern will support the IBP team by capturing and standardizing end ‑ to ‑ end planning and order management processes, and helping identify opportunities for automation within our ERP. This role is ideal for someone interested in supply chain, operations, and systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Shadow users and interview process owners to document current ‑state workflows in planning, order management, and related functions.
• Develop process maps, SOPs, and supporting documentation (RACI charts, checklists, templates).
• Work with IBP and ERP/IT teams to translate process requirements into system configurations or simple automations (e.g., reports, alerts, templates).
• Assist in testing and validating changes to ERP processes to ensure they are user ‑ friendly and accurate.
• Contribute to training materials to support adoption of new or improved processes.

Qualifications

• Working toward a Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Industrial Engineering, Information Systems, or related field.
• Strong analytical and problem ‑ solving skills; ability to break down complex processes.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office; familiarity with process mapping tools (Visio, Miro, Lucidchart, etc.) a plus.
• Interest in ERP systems and business process improvement.
• Clear written and verbal communication; comfortable working with cross ‑ functional stakeholders.
