Job summary

Atlantic Testing Laboratories, Limited is seeking an entry‑level Intern/Co‑op in engineering/construction materials. You will perform field sampling and laboratory testing under supervision at construction sites and in our labs.

Training and certifications are provided, with opportunities for advancement as you gain experience in ASTM procedures and QA/QC documentation.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing an engineering degree with an interest in construction materials testing.
• Willingness to perform field sampling, inspection, and laboratory testing.
• Ability to follow ASTM or other procedures under supervision.

Responsibilities

• Perform field sampling and testing of soil, aggregate, concrete, bituminous, and masonry materials.
• Conduct standardized laboratory tests to verify material compliance with project specifications.
• Document field and laboratory testing results and support QA/QC activities.

Description

Entry-level position as an Intern or Co-op in engineering/construction materials.

Construction Materials and Engineering Technician performs construction materials testing and inspection at construction sites and in our materials laboratories in accordance with American Society of Testing and Materials (ASTM) or other applicable procedures. Performs testing of soil, aggregate, concrete, bituminous, and masonry construction materials.

We provide training and certification prior to independent assignments. About 80 percent of the time is spent at active construction sites providing quality control/quality assurance sampling, monitoring, and/or inspection. The remainder of the time is spent in the laboratory conducting standardized tests to verify that materials meet project specification or office documenting field and/or laboratory testing.
