Job summary

Atlantic Testing Laboratories, Limited is seeking an entry-level Intern or Co-op in engineering/construction materials. The role involves performing construction materials testing and inspection at sites and in laboratories, following ASTM or other procedures.

About 80 percent of time will be on active construction sites for QC/QA sampling and inspection, with the rest spent in the lab conducting standardized tests and documenting results. Training and certifications are provided.

Qualifications

• Entry-level internship/co-op in engineering/construction materials.
• Performs testing of soil, aggregate, concrete, bituminous, and masonry construction materials.
• Training and certification provided prior to independent assignments.
• About 80 percent of the time is spent at active construction sites providing quality control/quality assurance sampling, monitoring, and/or inspection.
• Remainder of the time is spent in the laboratory conducting standardized tests to verify that materials meet project specifications or documenting field and/or laboratory testing.

Responsibilities

Entry-level position as an Intern or Co-op in engineering/construction materials.

Construction Materials and Engineering Technician performs construction materials testing and inspection at construction sites and in our materials laboratories in accordance with American Society of Testing and Materials (ASTM) or other applicable procedures. Performs testing of soil, aggregate, concrete, bituminous, and masonry construction materials.

We provide training and certification prior to independent assignments. About 80 percent of the time is spent at active construction sites providing quality control/quality assurance sampling, monitoring, and/or inspection. The remainder of the time is spent in the laboratory conducting standardized tests to verify that materials meet project specification or office documenting field and/or laboratory testing.
