Job summary

Atlantic Testing Laboratories, Limited is seeking an entry-level Intern or Co-op in engineering/construction materials in Utica, NY. The role involves testing and inspection at construction sites and laboratories, following ASTM procedures.

Training and certifications are provided before independent assignments, with about 80 percent of time spent at sites and the rest in the lab documenting tests. This entry-level opportunity offers hands-on QC/QA sampling, monitoring, and advancement potential

Qualifications

• Entry-level position as an Intern or Co-op in engineering/construction materials.
• Construction Materials and Engineering Technician performs construction materials testing and inspection at construction sites and in our materials laboratories in accordance with ASTM or other applicable procedures.
• Performs testing of soil, aggregate, concrete, bituminous, and masonry construction materials.
• We provide training and certification prior to independent assignments.
• About 80 percent of the time is spent at active construction sites providing quality control/quality assurance sampling, monitoring, and/or inspection.
• The remainder of the time is spent in the laboratory conducting standardized tests to verify that materials meet project specification or office documenting field and/or laboratory testing.

Responsibilities

• Perform construction materials testing and inspection at project sites and in laboratories in accordance with ASTM or other procedures.
• Conduct QC/QA sampling, monitoring, and inspections at active construction sites.
• Document and report field and laboratory testing results to verify material compliance with project specs.
