Transcard is seeking a Software Implementation intern in Chattanooga, TN to assist the implementation team with client onboarding and project delivery. You will work under the Implementation Lead, gaining hands-on exposure to cloud-based payment solutions and cross-functional collaboration.

Responsibilities

Position Details

Transcard offers an internship program in the FinTech industry. Our program is designed to provide you with meaningful projects utilized by the business. You'll see the direct impact of your contribution and get an inside perspective of your desired field while working alongside some of the best in our industry.

We continually strive to identify qualified individuals for post-graduate opportunities beyond the internship program.

This intern position will operate Monday-Friday during standard business hours. This position is a paid internship, compensation will be based on the qualifications of the applicant.

Our goal is to allow you to gain a better understanding of the day-to-day responsibilities within the Operations department while working toward your professional goals as related to your academic coursework.

We prefer our interns to be onsite in Chattanooga, TN. We do offer remote capabilities for qualified individuals. Candidate must reside in the US. We are unable to offer visa sponsorship.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

The Software Implementation internship will start with a one-on-one meeting with the Implementation Lead or your designated personnel to discuss the professional goals of your academic coursework to ensure you meet all academic requirements during the internship. Additionally, the internship will be supervised by our Implementation team to provide routine feedback and status updates. There will be an exit interview with the Implementation Lead and Human Resources for continual improvement of the program. The Software Implementation internship will provide exposure to a variety of opportunities within our Implementation Department, supporting client onboarding and the technical delivery of our cloud-based payment and digital disbursement solutions.

• Support the Implementation team throughout the client onboarding lifecycle, from kickoff through go-live, gaining exposure to end-to-end project delivery.
• Assist in preparing for and documenting discovery workshops that assess client payment workflows, business processes, and technical requirements.
• Shadow client-facing calls and meetings to learn platform capabilities, implementation strategy, and industry best practices.
• Help maintain accurate records of client stakeholder communications and implementation status.
• Assist with translating client business requirements into system configuration documentation.
• Support configuration of platform components under supervision including account structures, API settings, and webhook setups in test and sandbox environments.
• Help coordinate and track file-based and API-driven integration tasks between client systems and platform services.
• Assist with validating configurations across testing and staging environments and logging results for the implementation team.
• Support testing efforts, including executing basic test cases and documenting results for payment workflows and integrations.
• Help track and organize implementation issues, escalating findings to the appropriate team member.
• Assist in maintaining implementation plans, including tracking milestones, deliverables, and timelines in project tools.
• Take notes and track action items during client and internal status meetings.
• Help monitor and organize project risks, dependencies, and blockers for team visibility.
• Support cross-functional coordination by relaying updates between Product, Engineering, Client Experience, and Operations.
• Assist with go-live readiness tracking and checklist preparation.
• Support user acceptance testing (UAT) by executing test scripts and documenting results for payment workflows, funding processes, and integrations.
• Help verify transaction processing test results across payment rails (e.g., ACH, card, RTP) under team guidance.
• Assist in developing and maintaining implementation documentation, solution diagrams, and workflow guides.
• Help create user-friendly training materials and client guides that simplify technical processes.
• Support the team in preparing client training and enablement materials.

Requirements

• Interest in software implementation, client onboarding, technical consulting, or SaaS delivery.
• Basic familiarity with APIs, webhooks, or system integrations (coursework or personal projects welcome).
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly.
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Preferred: Interest in or coursework related to payments, fintech, banking, or financial services.
• Preferred: Exposure to payment processing concepts, such as ACH, card, or account-to-account payment flows.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Comfortable collaborating across teams and communicating with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Proactive, solution-oriented, and eager to take ownership of assigned tasks.
• Comfortable operating in ambiguity and learning in a fast-evolving environment.

Education And/or Certifications

• Completed or currently working towards a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or a similar field.
