Job summary

Transcard offers a FinTech internship program based in Chattanooga, TN, designed for meaningful project work and real business impact. Interns will work Monday–Friday during standard hours and will be compensated based on qualifications.

Interns will gain insight into day-to-day operations within the Operations department, guided by senior staff, with opportunities for post-program roles for qualified individuals.

Qualifications

• Completed or currently pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Business or similar.
• Familiarity with customer support or ticketing platforms.
• Strong time management and communication skills.
• Ability to work remotely and independently from direct supervisor as needed.

Responsibilities

• Work with Customer Support to learn payment processes and address service issues.
• Shadow the Client Experience team to assist with processes.
• Perform daily tasks like card orders, research, card transfers, loading/unloading cards, and reports.
• Navigate multiple internal systems to gain knowledge of their functions.
• Support with activation, registration, and account access requests, providing timely assistance.

Position Details:

Transcard offers an internship program in the FinTech industry. Our program is designed to provide you with meaningful projects utilized by the business. You'll see the direct impact of your contribution and get an inside perspective of your desired field while working alongside some of the best in our industry.

We continually strive to identify qualified individuals for post-graduate opportunities beyond the internship program.

This intern position will operate Monday-Friday during standard business hours. This position is a paid internship, compensation will be based on the qualifications of the applicant.

Our goal is to allow you to gain a better understanding of the day-to-day responsibilities within the Operations department while working toward your professional goals as related to your academic coursework.

Our corporate office is located in Chattanooga, TN.

We prefer our interns to be onsite in Chattanooga, TN. We do offer remote capabilities for qualified individuals. Candidate must reside in the US. We are unable to offer visa sponsorship.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

The Operations internship will start with a one-on-one meeting with the Chief Operations Officer or your designated personnel to discuss the professional goal of your academic coursework to ensure you meet all academic requirements during the internship. Additionally, the internship will be supervised by our Operations team to provide routine feedback and status updates. There will be an exit interview with the Chief Operations Officer and Human Resources for continual improvement of the program. The Operations internship will provide exposure to a variety of opportunities within our Operations Department.

• Working with Customer Support team to learn payment processes and apply that to address issues that may arise with our services.
• Shadow the Client Experience team and assist with processes and procedures that help Transcard Clients.
• Daily tasks may include card orders, research, card to card transfer, loading cards, unloading cards, closing cards, unclosing cards, blocking cards, and running reports.
• Each request could be in a different system, which is imperative to gain knowledge of each internal system and its function.
• Assist with resolving client card activation, registration, and account access requests, providing timely support through the team's support/ticketing systems.
• Support the team in processing returned payment cards while maintaining accurate operational records.
• Contribute to resolving card-related backlogs and other high-volume operational initiatives as needed.

Requirements

• Ability to work remotely and independently from direct supervisor as needed.
• Must have great time management, communication, and organizational skills.
• Proficient in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy when maintaining records and processing transactions.
• Comfortable learning and navigating multiple internal systems and platforms.
• Ability to manage repetitive, high-volume tasks efficiently while maintaining quality.
• Strong customer service orientation, with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally with clients.
• Ability to work well both independently and as part of a team.
• Preferred: Familiarity with customer support or ticketing platforms.

Education and/or Certifications:

• Completed or currently working towards a Bachelor's Degree in Business or similar.
• Preferred Operations Management, Business Administration, Business Management.
