Job summary

Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. is seeking enrolled master's students for Spring/Summer co-op or Summer internship in Austin, TX (and other US locations).

You will work closely with software engineers to build and maintain our applications, with training across design, development, testing and deployment. You will gain hands-on experience in C/C++, Python, UNIX/Linux, databases, cloud platforms, and web frameworks while crafting technical documents, automating scripts, and learning debugging

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a US-based university in a Master’s degree program majoring in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or related discipline.
• Knowledge / experience with software engineering concepts, principles, and theories is desirable.
• Experience with C/C++, scripting languages, UNIX/Linux OS, databases, cloud platforms, web frameworks and version control is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with software engineers to build and maintain AMD software applications.
• Receive training across the full software development lifecycle from design to deployment.
• Develop scripts to automate parts of the development process.
• Learn debugging methodologies to identify root causes of software issues.
• Contribute to crafting technical/functional documents and reports as needed.

• Locations: Austin, TX, Boxborough, MA, Fort Collins, CO, Longmont, CO, Fishkill, NY, Rochester, NY
• Onsite/Hybrid: This role requires the student to work full time (40 hours a week), in either a hybrid or onsite work structure throughout the duration of the co-op/intern term

Duration:

• Spring/Summer Co-op: January 15, 2027 - August 13, 2027
• Summer Internship:
  • Semester Students: May 24, 2027 - August 13, 2027
  • Quarter Students: June 21, 2027 - September 10, 2027
• Summer/Fall Co-op:
  • Semester Students: May 24, 2027 - December 10, 2027
  • Quarter Students: June 21, 2027 - December 10, 2027

WhatYouWillBeDoing

• We will assign you responsibilities in which you will work closely with our software engineers to build and maintain our software applications.
• We will provide training on the full software creation process, from design and built to testing and deployment.
• We will encourage you to build scripts that automate some of our software development process.
• We will help you learn debugging methodologies to investigate the root cause of software issues.
• In certain projects we may have your involvement in crafting technical/functional documents and reports as needed.
