About The Role

Caterpillar’s Leadership and Technical Development Program (LTDP) for Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) is a three‑year rotational program designed to accelerate the development of entry‑level talent. Participants receive a solid foundation for meeting EHS challenges within operations and manufacturing, broad exposure to the company, diverse project responsibilities, and cross‑functional job experiences. The program provides the opportunity to build foundational technical and leadership skills for future success within the organization.

What You Will Do
  • Complete three 12‑month rotations tailored to business needs.
  • Travel and relocate to any participating facility in North America upon hire and throughout each rotation.
  • Engage in diverse project responsibilities, including:
    • Corporate/Enterprise EHS – responsible for enterprise safety‑driven strategy initiatives.
    • Front Line Leadership – oversee production or logistics activities, supervise daily worker tasks, coordinate between teams, ensure safety, and monitor performance.
    • Facility EHS – manage the environmental, health, and safety strategy while completing specific EHS assignments to support facility performance and compliance.

Program Qualifications
  • Completed degree in Environmental, Health & Safety, Safety Management, Occupational Safety, Environmental Health, Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Sustainability, or other related EHS/Engineering degrees.
  • Minimum cumulative GPA of 2.8/4.0 (no rounding).
  • Willingness to relocate domestically based upon business need for each rotation and for post‑program assignment.
  • Program Start Dates: January & June 2027.

  • 0–2 years of relevant safety or environmental engineering experience, including internships or academic projects.
  • Project or team leadership experience.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ideal for those building foundational EHS skills within the first 0–2 years of their career.

Summary Pay Range

USD 81,370.00 – 122,060.00 per year. Compensation and benefits may vary depending on multiple individualized factors.
